Go Green tips for June 4th

Here Sarah's groovy green tips for Friday, June 4th:

• Want a cooler house when you get home in the evening? Make sure to close all your curtains before you leave in the morning. Great way to stay naturally cool…that and staying naked—Oh my eyes!
• Those with air conditioners may be feeling the energy burn, so cut where ever you can. Days are longer in the summer, take advantage of natural light and switch off those lamps. You’ll be cooler, too! And again, there’s always the naked option.

Last night, it happened and a bit earlier in the season than normal for me. I woke up at 1am, just so hot. No, it’s not hot flashes, ha ha! It was just a warmer evening, wasn’t it? We did have our ceiling fan on, but it didn’t quite do the job and my husband hates the window open because outside noise keep him awake and our dog will start barking. Anyone else suffering in this? I know, strap on a backbone! There are ways to cool your house down, though, without air conditioning. This is especially true if you have windows on both sides of your house. Crack the windward one and then open the opposite one wider and you’ll get a nice cross breeze and that’s all I require. I have a friend, a single friend (an important element in this story), who, when it get’s too hot in the house, he’ll go out and sleep in hammock that’s hanging in his yard. That’s a great idea, but I think bugs would the end of me. Just the thought of what could crawl on me, I don’t think I can go there. I’m warm, but still green!
