Go Green tips for June 28th

Gotta tip you want to share with Sarah and the Go Green Ride at Five? Email her: sarah@921wvtk.com!

Here Sarah's groovy green tips for Monday, June 28th:

• Low on cash? How about a garage sale? This is the season! I’m having one this summer, it’s a chance to de-clutter, meet new people and maybe make more money towards finishing the new house!!
• Too lazy, I mean…too tired to organize a garage sale? Why not take some things to a consignment shop, then. You still make some money, maybe not as much, but you do come out ahead and with a lot less clutter!

Sunday is the 4th of July, and what better way to honor the nation we love than by protecting and conserving its natural resources? My tips this week, I hope, will help you plan a greener celebration! Some 60 million Americans fire up the grill on Independence Day, consuming enough energy – in the form of charcoal, lighter fluid, gas, and electricity – to power 20,000 households for a year, and releasing about 225,000 tons of carbon emissions. To reduce your output, opt for an electric or propane grill, both of which are cleaner-burning than units powered by charcoal. If you must use coal, choose briquettes made of invasive tree species, or derived from sustainably managed forests. Look for them where you buy your charcoal! Greener choices are everywhere, you just have to open your eyes! Green…just do it. This is the Go Green Ride at Five on 92.1 WVTK!
