Go Green tips for June 29th

Gotta tip you want to share with Sarah and the Go Green Ride at Five? Email her: sarah@921wvtk.com!

Here Sarah's groovy green tips for Tuesday, June 29th:

• Vermont Soap: good clean fun, online at Vermont Soap dot com and friend Vermont Soap on Facebook! Vermont Soap, Exchange Street, Middlebury.
• DR Power Equipment, your authorized Neuton dealer. Go green with naturally smarter power equipment from Neuton and DR Power Equipment on Meegs Road in Vergennes.

Sunday is the 4th of July, and what better way to honor the nation we love than by protecting and conserving its natural resources? My tips this week, I hope, will help you plan a greener celebration! Picnicking is such an important part of the Fourth of July, I mean it’s a great multi-tasking holiday. Eat and watch fireworks or watch fireworks and eat…it all depends on your priorities, I guess! Anyway, with the picnic comes the trash, and with the trash, comes the waste. Of course, you’re not going to want to carry glassware and ceramics on your picnic, not and have it whole and in one piece to use tomorrow! So, I’m not going to lay guilt on you about disposable dishware. Instead I’m just issuing a gentle reminder to encourage the kids and company to reuse their plastic or paper plates as much as possible. When my daughter was younger, I would write her name on the bottom of her cup. It was a lot easier for her to keep track of it that way! You could even have some fun with it, put out markers and let the kids decorate their cups however they want. Then, I promise you, they’ll use that cup all night long! Creatively green on the Go Green Ride at Five on 92.1 WVTK!
