Gotta tip you want to share with Sarah and the Go Green Ride at Five? Email her: sarah@921wvtk.com!
Here Sarah's groovy green tips for Wednesday, June 16th:
• In the mood to save money and go resale? I’ve posted a list of resale shops on the Go Green Ride’s link on 921wvtk.com. Think you can do them all in one day?
• Out of school shouldn’t mean out of options! There’s more to do than just TV and video games. If rain means they’re inside, plan an art or organization project like helping them reorganize their room or closet with lots of cookie breaks!
Father’s Day is quite the conundrum when one is trying to make better green choices. That’s because Dads tend to like things (power equipment, cars, power equipment, electronics, power equipment …you get the idea) that aren’t always best for Mother Earth. There are gift ideas out there that just might help Dad to be greener. Why not take the opportunity to simply take Dad shopping (Make him a fun personized gift certificate) at your local farmers market or nursery. The time spent with you, I’m sure would be gift enough! You could head out to the home-improvement store with your old man, steer him toward human-powered or electric (as opposed to gas-driven) lawn equipment, Energy Star power tools and appliances, and eco-friendly paint brands. He’ll feel good knowing that he’s protecting his family and the planet from noxious chemicals and emissions. Keep the green in the family with the Go Green Ride at Five on 92.1 WVTK!
