Go Green tips for June 17th

Gotta tip you want to share with Sarah and the Go Green Ride at Five? Email her: sarah@921wvtk.com!

Here Sarah's groovy green tips for Thursday, June 17th:

• Still in the bottled water habit? There are so many cool reuseable bottles out there that are attractive and inexpensive and way better choices than more plastic in our landfills!

• An incredible 69 percent of Americans still don’t recycle. Shocking, that! Look around your workplace and make sure those blue bins are strategically and conveniently located and then, feel free to remind people…often to make use of them!

Father’s day is creeping toward us, are you and the kids ready? Here’s a fun idea, especially if you have little ones. Plant Dad a garden. Not a big honkin’, here’s your present, Dad, go weed it, garden. More of a commemorative, lower maintenance deal that’s wiz to weed, at the most-three feet in diameter. Find and plant some bright, pretty blumes or even his favorite veggies, then, have them put some sort of decorative trim around the perimeter and maybe even a lamenated sign that signifies the occasion. It could say “Dad’s garden” or “Dad digs here!”. It’s a fun and inexpensive idea that offers a learning opportunity and presents them with the chance to do for someone else who really deserves results of their labor!
