Gotta tip you want to share with Sarah and the Go Green Ride at Five? Email her: sarah@921wvtk.com!
Here Sarah's groovy green tips for Monday, August 9th:
• You've got one in your kitchen. But what about setting a recycling bin in your bathroom too? That way you won’t be tempted (it’s too easy to do) to toss recyclable shampoo bottles and emptied toilet paper rolls into a trashcan!
• Got a kid heading off to college soon? Before you run to the store to buy their dorm room supplies, check out your local thrift stores for bedding, furniture and anything else they need to make that sterile room a home!
• Pet peeve alert: My older sister has the biggest collection of movies known to mankind. She’s been nicknamed the family Blockbuster, because she could open her own rental kiosk! Me, I’m a fan of Netflix and Redbox for my viewing pleasure. Why buy more plastic when you rent or borrow it and derive the same enjoyment of a good movie without contributing to our local landfills? Is it that important to have the complete Disney library? I don’t think so. Head to your local library most of them now have quite a collection of films and that’s also a great way to experiment with different movies. Some of my favorite flicks I never would have found if it wasn’t for my local library. So, before hitting the five dollar bin at Walmart, try your local rental outlet or library. Greener viewing on the Go Green Ride at Five on 92.1 WVTK!
