Gotta tip you want to share with Sarah and the Go Green Ride at Five? Email her: sarah@921wvtk.com!
Here Sarah's groovy green tips for Tuesday, April 13th:
• Got a compost pile, shred up that old phone book and put it to use there!
• Got a box store membership? Buying in bulk saves money and packaging. IF you’ve got the storage, that is! Be realistic, where will you keep all that toilet paper that doesn’t fit under the sink?
• Have you been able to find a reusable aluminum water bottle yet? I saw some at TJMaxx the other day. They’re very inexpensive and will save the money you’d otherwise spend on plastic waste. Going tap and water filter is going green, baby!
I love it when the news goes green: Students getting ready to graduate from St. Michael's College will be going green this year. All 550 graduating students will be wearing robes made by a company called Green Weaver. The fabric is made from 100-percent recycled plastic bottles. The green gowns cost about the same as the traditional kind and the college intends on recycling unwanted gowns for the next graduating class. I can’t think of a better start in the world than a green one! This is the Go Green Ride at Five on 92.1 WVTK!
